Going Coastal
© 1998 Mark Mulligan

Drinking cold beer in the hot summer sun
Been working too hard, got to have a little fun
Sitting in the sand, kicking off my shoes
Think I found the answer to the first world blues

The water’s so blue and the beach is so white
A pretty little girl sitting by my side
Lovely long hair and a body so tan
Darling I ain’t ever going back again

Some folks just lose their heads
Some go insane and some go postal
Call it what you want to
But me I’m going coastal

Back at home the boss is calling on the phone
But the answering machine says nobody home
But he don’t know I’m working overtime
On a bottle of tequila and some tropical wine

You can blame it on the sunshine
But life down here gets a little bit loco
You can say I’ve lost my mind
But me I’m going coastal

Got that reggae fever in my soul
Putting my brain on cruise control
Rub a little lotion baby on my skin
Tell me that the party ain’t never gonna end

You hear it all around you now
Sounds like this whole world’s going postal
You can say I’ve lost it girl
But me I’m going coastal

Let ‘em all go crazy now
Me I’m going coastal
